Things You Need to Look For
One of the ways we are going to free up some money is by becoming better grocery shoppers. There are always a lot of deals available to people who are willing to look for them. These deals are not limited to coupons (which some people are able to do amazing things with) but mostly to learning to shop around your local stores weekly flyers. Where I live we are quite limited to our shopping choices. There are only two major stores within a reasonable distance. One of them is Winn Dixie, the other is CVS. Both of these stores have a weekly flyer that lists most of their good deals for the week.
In order to take advantage of some of the best deals, you have to be able to sometimes buy larger portions. To make that work well you should keep your eyes open for a stand alone freezer (you can usually find these used for about $50) and a vacuum sealer (you can usually find these cheap at a salvation army store or a goodwill). Once you have these items you can take advantage of bulk purchases of meat or chicken that drastically reduce the price. Two other things I recommend you have; get a crock pot (easy to find at a salvation army or goodwill) and buy some Debbie Myers Ever Green bags. These bags really work and will make your produce last for weeks instead of days.
